Rowan is a British versatile voice actor with an age range from late teens to 40s – specialising in corporate, educational and character work.
Classically trained in theatre and with a career incorporating television, he is able to bring difficult, dry and educational subject matters to life, as well as alter his pace and tone to reflect the different audiences of each Voiceover – for example, those for whom English is a second language, older listeners, corporate listeners, or a youthful audience.
His natural accent is RP – BBC English and he specialises in regional and inner city dialects.
Rowan grew up in London and attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School as a child.
After high school he received a classical theatre training in Australia, at the National Institute of Dramatic Art before beginning his career in television. His work has seen him play guest starring and regular roles on television series in Australia, the UK and the US – including recurring roles for shows on Netflix (Lost in Space), NBC (Debris), ABC (The Crossing), Syfy (Ghost Wars) and more.
Most recently he has played William Shakespeare’s on CW’s Legends of Tomorrow. Alongside his television career, Rowan has worked extensively in Voiceover, developing a client base of corporate and educational clients.
His voiceovers embody relaxed and friendly executive, teacher or friend who is there to share a story, instructions, or product in an engaging and affable manner.
Rowan particularly enjoys working with dialects – voicing Yorkshire, inner city London or Northern Irish voiceovers where required, as well as Australian and standard American voiceovers. He works well with character scripts – giving personality to angsty teenagers, concerned dads, confident CEOs, heroes and villains when required and is happy to to play with dialect, tone and improvise, if required – demos available upon request.
